I Posted to Instagram Every Day for a Month…

… and this is what I learned.

So I ran a 'social media experiment' last month.

I wrote thoughtful posts and scheduled a whole month on my business Instagram account every single day for the month February.

    Wanna know the results?

Keep reading to find out 😉

    Consistent Posting

I scheduled a post for every single day in the month of February on my Instagram business account.

And I mixed it up, so there would be a variety of helpful and engaging content.

    • Educational? Check!

    • Special deals? Check!

    • Inspirational? Check!

(Before I share my results, you should know that social media is certainly not a driver for me. That is NOT where I love focusing my time. So I wasn't attached to an outcome, I just wanted to experiment to learn more. )

    So.... how'd it go?

    .

    .

    .

    Terrible 😂😂

I think maybe 5 or 6 people liked my posts - and that's CUMULATIVE.

    OVER THE WHOLE MONTH. 😆

I gained one follower... and then lost one follower. 🤷‍♀️

Here are three lessons I learned (or re-learned):

    01. I am not a post-every-day kinda person. I like posting occasionally, when I feel inspired to share something.

    02. I've recently gotten back into Human Design, and as a Generator, that means I tend to be responsive - so I work best when I share answers to questions, or have a more dynamic engaged partnership. (NOT when I schedule posts out for a whole month, kinda in a vacuum.)

    03. I don't view Instagram as a growth channel for my business. I felt this in my core, but wanted to take the time to strategically explore and extrapolate that data. And now I can absolutely confirm - Insta is not where I need to focus or want to be.

“How does this relate to me, J?”

How this might relate to where you're at in your life:

    01. You don't have to do everything and be everywhere.

Find the things, places, and people you love and focus there.

    02. Don't be afraid to experiment!

The only way to find out what works and what doesn't is by trying new things. And sometimes that's the only way to move forward, too. It gives you more information to make a decision.

    03. However you work is OK.

Have a chaotic goblin mind that likes to change things up all the time? THAT IS AWESOME. You do you.

You don't have to do things that your coaches or inspirations or business besties do.

The more true you can be to yourself, the happier you'll be in business and life.
